Hi Kate, First, if you think it might be valuable, you should have that checked out before you do anything to it. However, as it has already been painted over, you may just want to go ahead and repaint it. The pale aqua sounds great. Pale yellow or cream would go well with it. If you want to try to identify the colors of the fish, a lot of different species are shown here: http://www.oceanlight.com/fish.html

Otherwise go with whatever you like as far as colors. The most important thing in my view is to use a non toxic paint that will not hurt the birds that drink the water. You don't want a water soluble paint of course, and some of the oil-based paints may have harmful ingredients. Birds can be more sensitive to these than humans or larger pets. Ask at your store for a paint that would be safe, or email the manufacturers if it is not clear from the can.

Good luck with your project and I would love to see a photo when it is done! We could put it on the site here.

I have inherited a concrete bird bath from my 100 yr old neighbor and she had inherited it from her older sister in the 70's who lived in Florida. I was wanting to paint it the original color (my neighbor had painted it white when she brought it home). It appears to have a pale aqua in the bowl and the scollops on the bowls edge (they could be clam shells) were pale pink. The base has three fringetail fish that have lion like faces. They are situated with their tails up and don't look to have had any color on them other than the white. I haven't been able to find anything like it online so I am at a loss as to what colors to use on the fish or if any of it should be painted at all. If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Being a pet owner, we must give importance and give prior attention to them. So that you will prevent them for any signs of diseases that they will encounter.

As you can see here, my Westie, Mr. Henry, does NOT enjoy his bath time: http://urbzen.com/2008/12/12/weekly-henry-is-not-pleased/

Hello Julian,

No, in fact, this is about safety. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs because they cannot digest thiobromine, the caffeine-like substance in chocolate.

Special dog 'chocolates' are another matter. They either do not contain real chocolate beans or they have had the thiobromine extracted.

Thanks for visiting,
Rosie

Hello. This is all about taste. I completely agree with you regarding " What I Need To Do To Protect My Dog From The Dangers Of My Home?", but I think you are in the thin line of thinking. Don't you? Maybe you can try dog chocolate questions
