Listening to a dog bark constantly can be really annoying. Nevertheless, barking is a great advantage when we want our pet to function as a guard dog as well. We mean for the dog to protect our homes from strangers that try to break into them. In these situations, the barking is a synonym of protection. Dogs may also bark if they need to go outside to the bathroom and that is okay too.
All this is well and good, but sometimes our dogs bark for no reason at all. For example, they bark at simple objects, like a lamp, or they may bark endlessly at visitors that come to our house. This problem is not new at all, and there are several ways you can deal it with, however, one of the simplest and most efficient ones is getting an anti bark collar. These collars are preferred by most dog owners because they do not involve pain or real discomfort to the dog, and they teach dogs to reduce their barking with some time.
There are a few different anti bark collar products to choose from. For example, you can get a citronella anti bark collar for your dog. The citronella anti bark collar works by releasing a small spray of citronella in front of your dog’s nose. The dog stops barking while he tries to figure out what this new smell is and where it comes from. Over time they will start to realize that every time they bark when they are wearing the collar, the spray comes out.
There are other types of anti bark collars as well, such as the ultrasonic collar. Like the citronella anti bark collar, the ultrasound anti bark collar doesn’t use electrical shocks to correct the dog. It works by emitting a noise that’s too high pitched for humans to hear, but that’s perfectly detectable by dogs. The sound distracts the dog and keeps him brom barking, just like the citronella spray does.
Remember that you do not need to keep the anti bark collar on your dog all the time. If they seem to tone the barking down at night or you want to make sure they can alert you if they hear an intruder, you can keep the anti bark collar off when you go to bed.
